The Cain House Country Inn & Suites have been through many exciting transformations over the years. We continue to provide our guests with the utmost care during your lodging experience and still provide the privacy of a Country Inn.
A little history - James Stuart Cain arrived in Bodie at the idealistic age of 25. He soon realized his dreams with hard work and a touch of luck. He became the principal landowner in Bodie, and later generations moved to Bridgeport bringing the Cain legacy with them. The grandeur of the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains is the perfect setting for evening refreshments as the sun sets, turning the sky into a fiery, purple canvas. The Cain House has been lovingly restored. Relax in comfortable elegance. Each room has been individually decorated. The Cain House boasts up to 7 unique guest rooms and 1 private cottage, all with their own private bathrooms. In the afternoon hours guests are provided refreshments and cookies as they sit on our welcoming front porch. In the morning, the smell of fresh brewed coffee will greet you, as you come on down to the parlor where a healthy continental breakfast awaits you. It is served for your convenience between 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. After breakfast, the pristine beauty of the valley, lakes, and streams await you. Enjoy your day participating in the activities offered in this outdoor recreational paradise. Depending upon the season, they include: hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and much more. Less than one hour away, in either direction, is downhill skiing and Nevada gaming.
